Read an interesting article on the religious aspects of ISIS.  Reading the article reminded me of many of my own experiences as I started on my spiritual journey.  The article points out that the people of ISIS believe they are on a spiritual mission  It's my experience that you don't get this kind of fervor and the results they have achieved without some spiritual support.  In the old Testament there are several instances where nations rose up and seized power and even took the Isrealites captive and took them from their land for a 70 year period only to have them returned to fulfill a prophecy.  The point I wish to make is that things aren't always what they seem to be.  Getting involved in a war because it looks like the civilized thing to do (and coincidently protects sources of oil) chooses to ignore the position of many that there are spiritual factors at work in this world.  Even the religious right seems to be blind to the fact that the US has taken on the modern day  role of  the "mercenaries" hired by BC kingdoms to defend themselves  against powerful enemies.  There is more than wanting Peace for the sake of peace involved in deciding how to proceed in reacting to the ISIS movement.  The king needs a prophet who will tell him what is going on and not prophets who desire to tickle his ears.  We need to pray for such a prophet to be raised up or we are going to see more innocent blood shed in the name of Democracy.  It's more important to live in peace than to live under any particular political system.
