Thank you for your welcome. I live in Aspen and, as far as I know, am the only Quaker here so the chance to read about the Friends is very welcome. The comments and articles are inspiring and give me a sense of being connected to others who share my beliefs.
Thank you for your greetings. From other comments that I see you might be in Iowa. My mother was raised in Cherokee-Storm Lake area. No Friends that I know of there; mostly feuding Irish Catholics and Swedish Lutherans. I'm talking of course about her family.
Not sure I know you, but you left a comment for me to introduce myself so am replying. I believe you are friends with Keely, so we do have a mutual friend. Live in Nashville area and attend the meeting there. Not sure what else you were curious about, precisely. I don't come here often.
Thanks for the welcome friend. I have little time for the computer. Enjoyed reading articles on this site. Hoping I can contribute sometime soon.
Blessings,
George Lynn
Hello William. I'd be happy to chat further with you about Stavanger. However, I must offer a caveat that it has been over 30 years since I was there and my memory may not be very clear. I have a faint memory that Daisy Newman may have written somewhere about the establishment of the Stavanger meeting in Iowa. The Stavanger Friends Church (which appear to have moved fully into the mainstream of evangelical Christianity now) has a brief history on its website: http://www.heartofiowa.net/~stavangerchurch/who.htm. You can email me directly at twklaus@nonprofitgp.com, if you wish. Best wishes, Tom
Hello William. Thanks for your note. During part of my career with Friends, I was the pastor of Stavanger Friends Church, outside of LeGrand, Iowa. Stavanger had been one of the meetings affiliated with IYM Conservative for many years. In the 1960s or 70's the meeting became independent and adopted a programmed worship style. However, many of the members of the meeting when I was there (1978-1981), still had many connections with IYM Conservative Friends including many in Paullina. It was not unusual for conserative Friends who were traveling through to worship with us. It's been a long journey to unprogrammed Friends for me, but I'm feeling like I'm in a much better place.
Hello William! Thank you for the lovely comment and glad you are enjoying the photos! I've never been to Grimsby but I have been to Lincoln which is a beautiful city.
Indeed, that is I! I would love to hear more about West Grove in the past. I've only been a member since we moved out here four years ago. Thank you for the kind comment.
Thanks William. A good book on the subject is "A Biblical Point of View on Homosexuality" by Kerby Anderson. Another good book is called "The Challenge of the Disciplined Life" by a fellow Quaker Richard J. Foster. It has a good section on this topic. Blessings!
Hello William! I just can't thank you enough for your recommendation!! I'm so excited! I have not had a place of worship for years. It has left me lonely. It also sounds like my 13yr old daughter Grace will be excited as well, when I show your comment to her. I'm in Nashua, I'm not sure how far they are from me. I can't wait for Monday so I can call them! Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to share all this with me. :) Have a wonderful weekend, my Friend. Blessings and peace, Tina
I've heard of people having good luck with Jiaogulan and blood pressure. I'm going to be using it soon for my muscles and tendons...especially tendons. I put a lot of wear and tear on my hands and forearms, and I'm hoping this can help me periodically. We also used it at the equine animal hospital I worked at for recovery from surgery. I don't know how it interacts with medicine, but it might be worth looking into.

Hello! William!
I want to thank you for choosing to be my friend! I am very happy to have thee for a friend! What are your hobbies? Do you like cats?
How is Darlene doing? Better, I trust and pray!
I anticipate getting to know you better in the near future.
Peace to thee and thy house!
Hilda

Hello William!
Hope ye are doing well! Have ye returned home? Have ye gotten back to QQ yet? Thinking of ye today.
Thy humble Friend,
Timothy
Hello, Friend William.
We are praying for you and your wife. I sent out a request to the entire church here to be in prayer for you.
Thank you for your encouragement, Brother!
