If the Brits can refer to the Atlantic Ocean as "the pond", then who's to say that the experience of Judeo-Christian religion is not a day at the park.

Weighty Friends are just the latest stones that God has skipped across our troubled waters. Certainly, the O.T. prophets, and even a couple of kings, came at the chosen people with competitive purpose.

Of course, the stones that hopped, almost to dancing, into salvation history by psalm and story are a delight, still experienced by children of God. Yet the ones that land with a thud, or plop, are no less significant for taking us deeper into the fathomable mystery of God. Still, there is one, even Christ Jesus, that transversely answered our human condition, separated from God.

To many, the expanse, no less than the spiritual expense, is like an ocean of difficulty to get beyond. Yet, what is impossible for us is a day at the park, skipping stones across the pond, for God.

Is it not time to accept the challenge to explore the other shore of our inter-play with God?!
