but I think it's what everybody needs to know about everybody.

The modern Quaker Fox quote doesn't quite get it.
The essence of Christianity (paraphrasing Jesus' two 'commandments') is that we need to:
recognize God as God. [~"I have no enemies," says God in a Raymond Smullyan dialogue. "I have people who think they're My enemies, but they don't know Me. To know Me is to love me."~]
And recognize our neighbor, our enemy, that awful person 'there'-- as myself.
