As world travel seems to be the impetus for invasive species of fish plaguing our waterways, world religions have introduced the Juggernaut into Quakerism's prophetic stream. A terrible toll is exacted when Friends sacrifice themselves to insatiable longing for something other than what we have, as given.

Probably air travel (and certainly military aviation) should be outlawed some time ago.
Meanwhile, as Destroyers of the Earth go, it's likely that Quaker grannies en route to visit grandchildren or to see the wonders of Eygpt or to bring 501(c)(3) nonprofit culture to the heathen really aren't top contenders (much as it seems that way when one's worship group spends more time in the air than worshipping.) It is a peculiarly ironic state of affairs, however.
