The thing about "prophetic" witness is that one needs to be "called" to it by the One who sends prophets: Indignation, no matter how justified, is not enough. [Nor is compassion, nor the simple awareness that what's being done is wrong, dysfunctional, counterproductive & tragic.]

I would say I was 'called' to such 'prophecy' for a while, and then started seeing our civilization's misdoings & self-afflictions -- not as merely evils in their own right, but as the consequences of our collective spiritual disinterest.

I do feel called to somehow attempt to address that condition, but suitable occasions, when I can be -- not just a voice calling futilely in the wilderness (or one calling 'effectively' either) but a person acting as part of God's effort -- in my present human limitations -- have been fairly infrequent lately.
