From the Friends Center Brochure:
A compass makes a good metaphor for our spiritual lives and the work of discerning God’s will for us. Keeping our soul’s eyes on the sacred compass leads us to the holy discovery that we can move through life with purpose and promise, even in those times when we may not sense with certainty what the purpose and promise are. The Divine compass points us to the mind and love of God. In a grace-filled way, our compass invites us into a life of continuous experiences of God and of spiritual transformation.
This guided retreat, based on Brent’s book Sacred Compass, will be an interactive opportunity to see where the Holy Spirit has led and is leading us. All of the sessions combine worship, thoughts from Brent’s book, individual spiritual work, and small group experiences.
Brent Bill is the author of several books including Sacred Compass: The Way of Spiritual Discernment and Holy Silence: The Gift of Quaker Spirituality. He is a graduate of Wilmington College and the Earlham School of Religion. He has been a local church pastor, denominational executive, seminary faculty member, and go-cart track operator. He is a frequent speaker and workshop leader, reachable through www.brentbill.com. Brent lives on Ploughshares Farm, fifty acres of Indiana farmland that is being reclaimed for native hardwood forests and warm season prairie grasses.
