The hardest part about responding on this site is there is no obvious link between the notification of a message and the posting of the response (especially when one gets two messages in close time proximity).
It is not the keeping of days or the NOT keeping of days which is of any importance, but the demonstration of Love. Each of us has a path to follow and it is a Good thing to encourage those who are trying to be/do good. The World is definitely in need of mending!
On the other message: as I do not lightly Friend, I do not lightly Unfriend (which would be what would happen should I leave Facebook). I am mostly there to follow a few Quaker pages, local charities, and family posts: all of whom these days seem to communicate only via Facebook!
May you have a prosperous journey and find yourself on the Path the Creator has ordained for you.
Realized I had not wished you masel tov and Happy Hannakuh!
Not sure which sites it was on now. First got on the net after my husband died 7 years ago and quickly learned NOT to Friend people too easily. Each site seems to have its own peculiarities, making some easier to use than others. As I mentioned in my post the other day, I seldom come HERE unless I get an email notice that requires an answer. At least this site tends to give FULL messages rather than only the first six words...
I am really hesitant to accept most Friend requests, having had several which turned into pleas for cash. I do hope you have found some people nearby to give you physical affirmation. I agree that the internet has limitations. On the other hand, it does allow connection with like minded people when they are few and far between in one's physical neighborhood.
:) x
Hello Laura - thank you for the friend request. Yes, I am sort of new here - I used to belong some while ago, but pruned out the internet groups I belonged to, just to simplify things. But I've missed QuakerQuaker - I like the people here. x
Laura
With honor and gladness... Thank you for the friends request

Years ago a fire destroyed my collection of books, videos and documents, some rare, and some historical, and all centered on the theme of Intentional Community. Since then I have been rebuilding that library and my Religious Society of Friends library. Of course, many artifacts regarding Intentional Community are safely in the care of The Communal Studies Association and various museums. And there is no worry about the vast collections of Quaker material, safely guarded in the libraries…

Getting ready for another Gloriously "Holiday" Free Season! At last count I think I know of about three other "Christmas" abstaining Quakers among the bunch of us. I gave up the whole lot of these so called "holidays" years ago. I just now today began to realize that the fuss of this whole bothersome thing was beginning to get buzzing in those of that worldly, dare I say, pagan, way around me, and breathed a sigh of relief, that once again, I am free. I won't spoil it for any of those…
