Karen - I am right there with you being comforted by my plainness. I have been wearing my head covering since January of this year. It has been an emotional roller coaster and very challenging to me!…Continue
Hi Barbara, SO glad to know you found the book interesting and relevant to your own leadings. I hoped when I when back to the Church that I would have more opportunities to offer the deep Quaker insights I had found among Friends. It was OK but not what I had hoped. And I had also hoped to continuing a witness among Friends for the need for the "tradition" and the continuity of links back to ancient times, back even to Jesus himself. I am still having those discussions and I feel that the diminishing numbers of Friends here on Long Island and all over the Northeast is evidence of the need there is for more than what they have thought important in these modern times. I attend Mass at 7:30 every Sunday and then go to 11 AM Meeting at Westbury with my husband. I am active in both communities and am thankful for both. If you want to talk, please feel free to call my home at 631-427-7542 or my cell at 631-335-0194. Your spiritual friend, Rene
Barbara, a third attempt to respond to your prompt reply. I certainly remember Tom and Nan Brown and would like to send my greetings to them. Would be happy to re establish contact with other Ithaca Friends who were kind to me during my struggling years there as a graduate student-- remember especially Elspeth Rhodin's encouragement. I met the Smiths several years ago at OYM but my wife knew them well 20 plus years ago when she was teaching at Olney. Their Bolivia Friends whom you mention are Grant and Neva Kaufman. They live very in the country about 250 miles from the large city of Santa Cruz and we are very in the country about the same distance in another direction. We are always happy when our times in the city coincide. My wife, youngest child and I are traveling to Indiana this week to visit family. Would like to re visit upstate New York after all these years but it does not look very likely for this visit. I remember visiting with Ned and Marjorie Burtt not long before leaving Ithaca so i can well imagine the physical surroundings of the worship group there. Milton
Thank You, Barbara!
You just made my day! I spend an incredible amount of time alone and it makes me so happy
to meet new Friends. Thank you for replying so quickly, I appreciate you and your knowledge.
Blessings,
Carolyn
Thank you Barbara for the blessing. I will probably be asking you questions as I take these first steps. Thank you for your advice.
I attend at Ithaca Monthly Meeting, and write http://lightandsilence.org.
Bruce is over past Cortland, so we probably wouldn't travel together. Let me know when you have a chance!
Thanks,
Simon
My wife Monica and I would like to attend. May we bring a dessert or something? We are very close to where Elmira Meeting meets and occasionally attend there. We look forward to meeting every one. Monica and Lee

Hello, Barbara!
I wish to thank thee kindly, Barb. If it were not for my husband, Timothy, I would not be able to figure out a single thing on the computer, yet alone this site! Yes, I do believe it will be a blessing to me. I also look forward, as time allows, to get to know you also!
Thank thee very kindly for accepting my invitation. Thy Friend in the Light of Christ Jesus,
Hilda
Hey Barbara, Sorry, I didn't get your email! So glad you thought to friend me here though!
Hello, Barb!
At least if I can't find thee in one place I can try another now. Hope thee and thine are well. May the Lord God bless thee and give thee Peace.
Timothy
