Hi Jennifer!

I grew up in central Florida... didn't know about the Quakers then, and am not now in the state.   But I sure think there's a lot of need for Quaker sensibility, integrity, openness, and social justice in a state like Florida!   When I visit I feel aware of how much more poverty there is -- a different sort of poverty because it's completely unsupported and has a lot of isolation and feelings of betrayal that go with it...  

I am glad you are there and I hope that your interest in connecting with other Friends will bear fruit.  You may be interested in this conversation as well (link here), simply because in this discussion on "Solitary Friends" we were all brainstorming together what to do when there's not a lot of Quakers around, or none known.

Hi Olivia,

Nice to meet you!  Thanks for the tip on the "Solitary Friends" discussion.  I have gotten into contact with a Friend who lives near me, and I hope we can form a worship group on this end of Broward.  I  went to Meeting for Worship in Miami on Sunday and they were very supportive.
