"I overestimated the media. My profession is no longer a trusted arbiter of the truth, which means the country lacks a common set of facts around which to argue."

-- Ron Fournier - The Atlantic

It is such a blessing to know a way of existence wherein the direct and unmediated experience of inshining Light itself is sole arbiter without regard to any outward social or civic professions whether political, religious, or economic. To witness the indwelling Light itself illuminating the conscious and conscience is to know freedom from all "common set of facts," that outward professions struggle to lay over against the mystery of a faith held in pure conscience. There is a different way to exist on this earth that is open to all people. A way that is no longer anchored in outward forms, traditions, practices, and institutions ... a way that is not sitting down into outward instrumentalities.

If people in general relied more on this, there would be far fewer people befuddled by war fever, the belief that elections matter, by sources of "news" overall. Likewise by "methodolatry", bibliolatry, or academolatry, etc. (Or by the notion that there's no such thing as Truth!)

Thank you Keith and Forrest.  This is the first thing I read and engaged my mind on this morning upon waking.  Both of your remarks are so beautiful and meaningful.  Your statements represent the life lived by Jesus because this type of life is the only true reality - and he knew it.  He so wanted this living reality for all who would listen.
