About Me
Hoot Williams, most recently from West Philadelphia, is an Earlham School of Religion MDiv student with an emphasis in Spirituality, who has been counseling professionally since 2007. He has also recently served as Resident Host of ESR’s Lauramoore Guest House, Hospitality Intern at Pendle Hill and an Airbnb Superhost.
“The religious education I am receiving at ESR, along with the unique shape my life has taken since answering my call to ministry, continues to form me into a servant of God’s people through hospitality, counseling and community building. With an emphasis on helping those who are emotionally, financially, and spiritually wounded, my own weaknesses are being used as strengths to welcome the stranger, heal broken hearts, and explore new pathways of being the Church in a fractured world." As for his future, Hoot explained, “With a Masters in Divinity and professional certification in addictions counseling, I will be positioned to serve others outside of the institutionalized mental health arena in a faith-based setting that provides more flexibility in providing affordable direct services in spiritual counseling.”
