"Live up to the bonnet", from Amelia Mott Gummere, page number not available at this time. Live up to the name, live up the bonnet. . ?
On my name: So I needed a name. Neither my birth name nor my married name would work, so I chose a name from my heritage, once I learned that my ancestors had come over with Penn's fleet. ( I had been a Friend for years before I learned that!) Subsequent to my choice I discovered a number of Scattergood enterprises of high Friendly Esteem and I don't mean to represent that I measure up to them, yet the challenge of the name is a bit like trying to "live up to the bonnet."
