My almost-eight-year-old niece showed me a picture she drew of the world. And Africa is very tiny, and when I told her that it's actually huge, that more than a few maps of the US could fit over the actual map of Africa, she didn't believe me.
So today I went searching for maps that would show her some persepective and found worldmapper.org. You can look at land mass based on all sorts of criteria like literacy, disaster, and religion. I had fun exploring and found this map of the distribution of Quakers.
It increases the size of each country on the world map based on the distribution of the thing it's trying to show.
