A few years after attending my first meeting I used to joke (probably itself not a form of simple speech) If you did not like to read it would take you a long while to understand Quakerism--Quakers (the ones I was amongst) did not like to share/evangelize/ offend. Not that the 3 are equal, but I believe some people thought it to be so.
I "rebelled" by telling everyone where I went on Sunday and invited my best friends to meeting. They eventually became attenders, then eventually stopped.
I did not invite them to convince or convert--I felt their souls were already special and they had their own relationships with Gog--but I wanted to share the good things I had experienced with my Quaker community.
More on this later--including speaking during meeting and after meeting!
