Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
I admit that I am new here to QQ. I find it a tremendous blessing as I am isolated. The many posts and articles and the library study which I have been enjoying is wonderful.
However, I have noticed a worrying trend. I have noticed that most posters are Quakers of one form or another. But I have also noticed many posts shining a light on a particular groups or an individuals short comings or what the poster sees as sin. And then follows a long thread of what I can only see as contentions among brethren.
I have even seen posts which say, "most Quakers....(fill in negative remark here.)
This is very troubling to me. Most of us, and I speak largely for myself, need much uplifting, prayer, and encouragement in my walk with the Lord. (even after over 20-some years)
I so look forward every day to come here and read the good news which the faithful have to say. How the Spirit is leading them and so on. And I think that that is part of why the sight was developed. To link brothers and sisters in like faith to encourage one another.
I don't presume to know much, in fact some articles here are so far over my head they are in another stratosphere and I feel very small indeed. However, I do know three things that help me very much.
One, we should be careful in judging, God warns us of that. Two, that we are to walk in peace with all men as much as possible. And three, most importantly, we are to Love and pray for our brothers and sisters, building them up in the faith.
I certainly don't wish anyone to see this in the negative, as some sort of spiritual spanking. Just the opposite. I wish to encourage everyone to keep going. To hug you and say "good word, you really blessed a lot of people today" To say keep seeking, keep listening.
I wish to speak kindly to brothers and sisters in Love and be thankful to God that I have this sight to come to to get together and share our wonderful experiences in Him.
Peace to all
Dear Debrah,
Thank you for your loving care of this community. All of us struggle with our shortcomings as humans as we walk with God. With your witness, may we find the Light shine into the corners of darkness in our souls.
Yours in the Light, Paula
