Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
As a fundamentalist, bible toting, pentacostal, true believer, Born Again, Quaker, I am always trying to figure out why what the bible says doesn't line up with the life I live. And I'm happy to say so far I have been able to satisfy myself that there is no contradiction. Now my lack of success with praying for healing is always a potential stumbling block but the bible does say even Jesus couldn't heal everyone because of their unbelief. However, I think you can't pin all the blame on the unbeliever( Although I do love praying for animals because they obviously don't believe or disbelieve). Finally I sense in my spirit that, with some exceptions involving "gifts of healing" and "anointings" prayer must come from a "loving" heart. A heart filled with divine compassion (Karuna?). After all Jesus said to his Apostles to love one another as I HAVE LOVED YOU. That is the goal. No excuses for unforgiveness. No excuses at all. Love your neighbor as yourself. Plain and simple. But like they say "24/7". Not on Sunday or when at the Food Pantry. Take a look at your 'fridge - That's a food pantry. Take a look at your closet - that's for the naked. Can't think of them that way for one reason or another? Of course you can't. I can't - yet! But if we were allowing the love of God to flow through us we would, we could, we can. Are you going to protest that we're only human and Jesus was God? He was also just man - check out Paul he'll tell you. How about Mother Teresa? She was special? How about Shane Clairborne? he looks pretty normal on Utube. Sounds normal too. I don't even see a Halo.
The first step to letting the Love of God flow through you is to honestly acknowledge to God that it isn't flowing as much as it should and if you want it to flow more cry out to Him with a loud voice. He might not be as close to you as he once was so make sure He hears you.
