Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
I have been actively absent from the blogosphere for some time now. Back in the ancient of days I had a quite sustained blog presence. I have from time to time returned to blogging but each time I have faltered and left again.
I think a big part of this is my awareness of how very public the space is with a very narrow audience. Blogs take a while to take off and most do not cultivate a massive following. Meanwhile what you say and do here is publicly accessible. My attempts to do a blog that was careerworthy (that somehow supported my employment aspirations) always failed first. I think because I was writing about what I thought I should write about rather than where my heart was.
So now I have this WordPress page called the Feast of Stephen, an allusion to the day after Christmas (commonly referred to as Boxing Day) and to a fellow who shows up in only two chapters of scripture: Stephen the Proto-Martyr. My latest blog post is about Coca-Cola, boundary markers, and our tendency to define ourselves in terms of who we are against.
