Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
I hope it's appropriate to post this here although it's not a uniquely Quaker issue...
With just over a month left in the final comment period on the Keystone XL pipeline decision, I was surprised to find that there were no petitions about it on the White House site, so I started one. I've tried to acknowledge in it both the public policy concerns I have and the fact that the way I live my life, the way most of our lives, still depend on the kind of dirty energy which I'm protesting--but that I believe we can change, as individuals and as a government.
I am posting this here for two reasons. First, I'm hoping to get enough signatures to make the petition publicly visible, so I'm asking US Friends who share my concern to consider signing here:
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/reject-keystone-xl-pipeli...
I also would be interested in hearing about how other Friends figure out the balance between asking for policy change and carrying out the personal change that makes such policy change possible and meaningful.
