Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Mmake turtleboxes.
That's IT. That's what I am supposed to be doing right now.
Not running after new clients, proving I am worth hiring.
Not looking for a…

Several of us at my Meeting would like us to pass a minute in support of the Occupy movement... and our Clerk thought when we next meet for business... "Would you write it?"

I find my old accustomed place among
My brethren, here, perchance, no human tongue
Shall utter words; where never hymn is sung,
Nor deep-toned organ blown, nor censer swung
Nor dim light falling through the pictured pane!
There, syllabled by silence, let me hear
The still small voice which reached the prophets ear;
Read in my heart a still diviner law
Than Israel's leader on his tables saw!
here let…

The journey of the Hebrew people from slavery in Egypt to new life in the land of promise is a journey that will take 40 years - a symbolic number again, a number that seems to embody the sense of completeness, fullness. This exodus journey, which in some ways, has come to represent spiritual journeying generally will not be a journey planned out in any kind of detail. It will be rooted in faith and trust in the God Moses looks to.
Exod 13 – The journey will be celebrated and…

I feel like I'm coming out of the closet again. It's actually striking how similar this is to when I started admitting I was gay. Here and there I would talk about "if" i were gay, or how maybe I'm bisexual. I would hook up with someone and then rant against homosexuality in Friends Journal or in meeting. Then I came out, blew the doors off the wall and no Quaker meeting in Greensboro was prepared. Though off topic, I think Friends meetings should very much consider how to be there for…

I awoke with a new prayer on my lips and in my heart yesterday:
Please, use my brokenness.
Certainly, I have prayed for healing and for God to use me, but never to use my brokenness. Before the words formed, there was an image of a mosaic, specifically the…
