I grew up in the Jersey City / NYC area and have lived many places over the years. North Carolina has been home for many years now. I am a medical clinician (PA) in family practice and have been in practice for 30+ years. My first real introduction to the Quaker faith was by Elton Trueblood back in the 1970's. I completed his course called "Ministry in Common Life" which was somewhat of a turning point for me. Since that time I have done graduate study in theology (ThD) and have been ordained to the pastoral clergy (years ago). During the later part of the Vietnam War, and following, I was an overseer for an independent congregation in Asheville, NC until it dissolved. I remain active in peace and social justice areas.
