Patrice, the pattern includes 3 pieces: a dress, a cape, and an apron. She's only wearing one of them in this photo though. Here's a drawing of all the pieces: http://friendspatterns.net/images/img9.gif

Zaley - Over the weekend it came to me to try making the three piece dress - this pattern. I have never tried it. Interesting to see this post revived at the same time. Will look for your variations. Have you done the cape? The drawing on the website makes it hard to tell what it actually looks like. This is helpful.

Thanks Patrice and Carolyn! I have since experimented and made a poly-cotton short sleeve version of this with snaps. My conclusion is that I don't like poly-cotton and snaps are troublesome to line up. Hopefully I will have some time this weekend to post some new variations I have been working on to develop my own patterns!

I haven't actually used hook & eye tape yet myself (all the dresses I've sewn lace shut, and that does gap a bit, but I'm a reenactor...I have another layer under), but I've seen it on a friend's clothing. I think just having wide enough of an overlap flap where the buttons would normally go is all you need.

Good suggestion Mackenzie! I have a hard time personally with the hooks and eyes...how do you avoid the overlap opening up...mine always seem to kinda funny...
