Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Friends to care is to belong. When someone joins a Meeting and are under the Care of that Meeting, it must be evident that to join a Meeting and be placed under the Care thereof, is not just as joining a country club, or social club, where dues are paid and nothing else is required save @ the whim of the person joining.
People come to religion for more than that. As a Meeting, we must Care and that Care means a new member MUST be held to Quaker principals and practices.
If Friends, thee will note, some of the largest and fastest growing faiths in Christendom are those that require the most from the members. People want that. It's an expression of Faith.
Meetings already formed need to make the new convert realize BEFORE and during clearness committee , that when they are taken under the care of the Meeting, much will be required of them. And much given.
Firm up that Faith and Practice Friends. No one wants a weak, wishy-washy, flimsy faith.
