Winnipeg Monthly Meeting (which I am part of) has grown in attendance from less than 10 to closer to 30 over the past few years. A delight to be sure. But our current rented space, which we love, is not big enough and we feel we need to move or new visitors will be sent the message that they are not required. This also gives us the opportunity to look for space that is wheelchair accessible (and we have agreed that our testimonies of equality and integrity are leading us to pursue that.)

We inquired at 30 potential sites and have three choices. The most attractive option would require a move from 11am to the afternoon and if we spread our search to other days of the week or Sunday night, we would likely have other choices that might be preferred.

I don't think there is any issue of any members in our meeting feel that having our weekly worship sometime aside from Sunday morning is in wrong ordering.

Nor, do I think, that there will be any reaction against change just on the principal of being against change, as so many are new.

What I would like to point to are examples of meetings that managed to change the time or day of weekly worship away from the norm without undue disruption or disintegration of the meeting. Can you direct us to any meetings that have a "success" story to tell? My advice so far has been to expect shrinkage if not dissension for changing either time or location.

Our expectation is that we will be renting space in a building on a per use basis, not renting space that becomes ours.

Thank you in advance for any responses.

Glenn
