Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
I came to Quakers because I was interested in finding a spiritual home among a spiritual community. But I was particualrl attracted by the fact that there was no creed. I didn't have to say that I believed in Jesus or anything like that, that Friends would accept me for who I was and for exactly where I was spiritual. Even though there was no creed, there was this depth of spirituality which interested me and attracted me. The fact that I was accepted for where I was spiritually enabled me to pursue my spiritual journey among this accepting community and deepen my spiritual life.
In that process, I started exploring our historical roots, which are Christ-centered and brought me to a place where now I'm quite Christ-centered and Jesus is a very important part of my life. But I never would have gotten there if I couldn't have started in a place where I was accepted for exactly who I was.
