Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Announcing the opening of a new blog sponsored by the Santa Monica Religious Society of Friends
Last Sunday, March 3, SMFM’s new blog on inequality was unveiled at the Adult Education meeting, following Fellowship. The clerk of the subcommittee of Peace and Social Action formed to study Inequality, Tim Vreeland, made the presentation to a small but appreciative audience using the house television screen.
He displayed the header which contains the site title THE QUAKER ACTIVIST with its tagline Reducing the Gap between Rich and Poor against a background showing the interior of a traditional meeting house. He then read samples from the first postings and explained the origin and purpose of the blog, referencing the carefully crafted minute that prompted its creation.
The postings appear as a broad column of text interspersed with illustrations, with a sidebar that provides a table of contents and commentary on the text. Readers are invited to comment on the postings. More importantly, all members and attenders of SMFM are invited to submit their own material for posting; all submissions will be given serious consideration by the editorial board, which consists of the subcommittee members. New postings on the blog will be made weekly. The link that allows you to view the blog is a href="http://www.quakersagainstinequality.wordpress.com/">www.quakersagainstinequality.wordpress.com>.
