Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Meantime: Sparing the Court of Quaker Opinion the wait, we live in the "Here and Now" as gift, or the present.
Endtime: Forgetting the inevitability of human death/destruction, and missing the opportunity for reconciliation, or the eternal present.
Meantime: Doing the most good in the little time we have upon this earth?
Endtime: Uniting with, as well as answering, that of God in each other.
Meantime: Before it's too late to do so?
Endtime: As the only way to justice and lasting peace.
Meantime: A focus on immediate situations of concern can also bring about justice, if not lasting peace.
Endtime: Heeding "the day of visitation" is, as scripturally recorded, different from regular attendance to the poor and needy, whom you always have with you.
Meantime: That sounds mean and cold-hearted.
Endtime: Not as mean as being unavailable to the immediate situation of God's concern for your spiritual poverty and need for reconciliation.
Meantime: And that sounds selfish.
Endtime: No more selfish than admitting "I have met the enemy, and it is I".
Meantime: We will not be frightened or pressured by your eschatology.
Endtime: Only deaf to the sounds of the bell that tolls for thee.
Meantime: Mean again!
Endtime: You mean well, but don't know how to mean.
