Should Meetings Accept Bitcoin and/or Other Crypto Currencies?

I'm asking an open-ended query, accepting in advance that some Friends may have made up their minds on this question (see title), whereas many more will have never posed such a query to themselves.

We might as well give it some time to season, invite feedback.

As Clerk of IT Committee for NPYM, it's a part of my designated role to invite open forum on such questions, debate if you will, worship-sharing, worship-discussion.

Segue to another topic...

The hyperlink above goes to a post with yet further links on a publicly archived listserv, of the type I've been suggesting NPYM Friends adopt in lieu of sending bulk emails (archives need not be public) -- let people sign up for whatever emails they wish to receive, why not?  Don't make some hapless central database keep track of everyone's druthers, a thankless task.

Also, why use cumbersome carbon-copy (cc or bcc) lists when listservs make admin (clerking) a snap?  Internet subcultures evolved listservs for a good reason.  Meetings wishing to use cyber-tools would do well to choose the best tools and practices.

Western Friend (the magazine and publishing group), shares my interest, in Quakerism meets high tech.

Outreach & Visitation (the NPYM committee) is all set to experiment with a next listserv, now that NPYM IT Committee already has one.  npym-it-discuss features a subscribers-only archive, but with permission to any subscriber to forward at will.

Here's a follow-up posting to my personal journal, linking back to the above query:

I meant to ask our #M3 Treasurer today if we had any plans for a bequeathment or (more likely) a donation in bitcoin. We have a QR-code on the door, suggesting we might.  I have a bitcoin wallet on my cell phone and could donate in bitcoin as soon as next week -- were we set up.  She's not a big fan of using email though.  I'll wait until next week to ask her.

More about the potential role of crypto-currencies in the new cities (aka "refugee camps"):
