QuakerDave on Anne Rice's quitting Christianity. I honestly don’t understand how someone 'quits' being a Christian and still claims having a commitment to Christ. I’m always sad when I hear that someone feels compelled to leave her/his faith community. It tells me that that person’s spiritual needs are not being met there, that that community has probably failed that person. That’s a shame. I’m lucky: my faith communty, since I entered it in 2003, has been one of the more recent joys and foundations and constants of my life.

Comment by Mike LaBelle on 8th mo. 10, 2010 at 7:21pm: Perhaps this has been mentioned (I have read all the comments) but my understanding, based on her quotes in a NY Times article, is she has quit "organized Christianity" but that she remains a Christian.
