Is not Presence a blessing when illness discomforts? We deepen down into the Quiet and invisible nurseries of healing open in and anoint consciousness. These invisible spaces of healing comfort consciousness with an inward peace effusing the dis-ease of the body with a nurturing eternal rest. While we play in the nurseries of Presence; the body heals.

Thank you, Keith, for this. I intend to send it on to a friend of mine who for several decades has endured bodily suffering, yet is able to manifest well-being of her soul, because she participates in the Presence.

Here is the passage in Fox's Journal that came to mind when I read your post:

And in that day I wondered that the children of Israel should murmur for water and victuals, for I could have fasted long without murmuring or minding victuals. But I was judged sometimes, that I was not contented to be sometimes without the water and bread of life, that I might learn to know how to want and how to abound (Nickalls, 18).

Fox distinguishes our longing for the blessings of creation (in this case food, but any of the blessings of creation could've been substituted, such as good health,  loving relationships, beauty of nature or art etc.) from our need for the Source of the blessings.  It is the Source of the creation that Fox hungers for, more than the blessings of creation, because he knows that the Source, partaken in immediacy, is the locus of his well-being.

Dear Patricia. You candle Presence with this offering  and, in turn, inspire a candling of Presence within me. Thank you for this inner nourishment; strengthening the Source, the Candle, of and in all things.
