When I was younger it was quite common to hear "Love conquers all".  Not so much now.  Maybe Divorce has beaten it down.  I don't know.  But I suggest that it's true:  Love does conquer all!.  I think if Adam had just admitted to God that he ate the forbidden fruit out of love of Eve and fear of losing her mankind's story might be entirely different.  But instead Adam threw Eve under the Bus and we have had to spend all these years learning that Love not only conquers all but LOVE IS ALL!

One time when I was reading my Bible I kept feeling drawn to Matthew 12, verses 1 through 8 which reads as follows:

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.  But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.  But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;  How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?   Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?  But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.  But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.  For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

I prayed about this for days without seeing anything in it and everytime I would hear or read that scripture I would wonder what I was missing.  The other day it came to me as I was thinking of Adam and Eve being evicted.  LOVE CONQUERS ALL!

Love is Lord of the Sabbath.  I have long believed (Heretic that I tend to be) that being born of the spirit (John 3:5) takes more than saying a prayer, even a heart felt prayer.  It takes love.  It takes a decision, conscious or otherwise, to lay down your life for another.  At that point you become a spiritual being with ears to hear and eyes to see the world as it really is.

Over and over Jesus says in one way or another that man isn't made for the law but that the law is made for man.  Paul writes in the 13th chapter of Romans in verses 8 and 9:  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Just as we are called to celebrate every day as the day God became flesh to dwell among us, so too can we celebrate every day as the day LOVE conquered all on a hill call Golgotha as proven a few days later when the Lord of the Sabbath conquered death and showed Hell could not hold Him.

And this is not a story but it is the WAY of the early church.  The WAY they lived as they followed the path their Savior called them to follow.  For us today LOVE can conquer shame, fear, guilt, hate, greed, gluttony.  There isn't anything Love can't conquer.  The secret is to experience LOVE, to experience God.  Seek Him with all your heart.  There is nothing in this world worth more than to find the pearl of great price for it will not rust or decay.  It can't be stolen by thieves.  If you sense His voice follow your leading.  Don't try to explain it.  Don't try to understand it.  Allow it to flow over and through you and bring you to a place where you can be all you were designed to be - a lover.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
