Do "God" and "Spirit" equate?

I've posed this question on my Red Electric site. I invite Quaker Quaker Friends to respond.

I certainly believe that they CAN equate, but I am very much of a relativist on this matter in that I do not believe they always equate. "Great SPIRIT" = "God"  The "Holy Spirit" as practiced by fundamentalists often does not seem to equate with "God." A number of other examples of equivalences and "non-equivalences" come to mind.
