Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Hi everyone! This is a process dissection of how to put together the cape dress from Friends Patterns. Thin plum coloured cotton is used.
Photo #1 - Neck pleats on bodice back. Just baste these like so.
Photo #2 - Bodice front darts. It is important that you do not cut out on these lines. Draw them onto the fabric, then match so that you have a single line instead of the triangle. Sew done this line, and fold over the remainder so it lies flat on the inside of the garment. See below as to how to fold.
Photo #3 - Hemming the edge of the cape. The yellow lone is the line on your pattern. Mark your own blue line for your first fold under and iron. Then fold on yellow, iron & sew through all layers. Do this for all external hems.
Photo #4 - Sew neckline through bodice and cape.
See next post for the rest, as I cannot fit anymore pictures :)
