I am a spiritual person and a lover of God. Family oriented and musical. I write songs and poetry. Play guitar and other various instruments. I am an animal lover as well as believe in taking care of nature because God created everything. I am a non-denominational minister and believe the Bible to be the authoritative word of God written by profits inspired of the Holy Spirit.
Welcome to QQ, Terry Sue! I believe that you will find many "fellow travelers" here on QQ. Some of them are active posters, and others are "lurkers" for various reasons.
The prophetic tradition of Christianity, in the sense of "speaking as the oracles of God," is very much part of traditional Quaker faith and practice. Nowadays, it is mostly identified with the Conservative branch of Friends.
You might find Lewis Benson's life and thought of considerable interest, although it takes considerable effort to understand some of his concepts. For more on "prophetic Quakerism", see the New Foundation Fellowship website: http://nffquaker.org/
I would recommend Benson's None Were So Clear: Prophetic Christian Faith. It recounts his spiritual search, and discovery of George Fox's life and thought.
Did you know that QuakerQuaker is 100% reader supported? Our costs run to about $50/month. If you think this kind of outreach and conversation is important, please support it with a monthly subscription or one-time gift.
