I'm 61, nearly 62, a reader, listen to classical music, opera and other vocal works. Spent time in a monastic community (Anglo-Catholic) before leaving to return home to SF to care for my Mother, whose health was rapidly degenerating. I spent much time reading about, and sitting with, the Quakers here on 9th St.
I am not a birth-right Quaker, but consider the Quaker way the closest to the Gospels we will get on this Earth.
I wish to join the Quakers, but getting down there each week is nearly impossible. Considering my physical constraints, I am severely limited in my travelling. I find this very frustrating. I know the value of being a member of a close-knit religious family. The support and strength one shares is crucial to our growth as Christians. And, in today's hectic and cruel world, we need all the help we can get!
Did you know that QuakerQuaker is 100% reader supported? Our costs run to about $50/month. If you think this kind of outreach and conversation is important, please support it with a monthly subscription or one-time gift.
