Greetings, Friends!

Minding the Light: Our Collective Journal is a publication of West Hills Friends, a Quaker meeting in Portland, Oregon. Using the guidelines of "worship sharing," we invite members and attenders to reflect on a specific query for each chapter.

Chapter 28 of Minding the Light is now available online and attached as a PDF file, below. For this chapter, we invited Friends to respond to the query, "When have you been led to a place of…

No, I don't.  But if someone in our Meeting is willing to set up a site, we may have one in the near future.  Thanks for your interest.

Memoirs Of The Life And Gospel Labors Of Stephen Grellet
Don't let the length intimidate you.  I think that you would enjoy it.  I read my copy until it fell apart.
Richard Jordan: A journal of the life and religious labours of Richard Jordan

Journal of Ann Branson : a minister of the gospel in the Society of Friends

Ann Branson is an outstanding journal, but she was sometimes very harsh.  Ann belong to the Ohio Conservative Friends.

I also have some papers on some ministers' journals.  For example, see my Spring 2000 paper on Cyrus Cooper: William F. Rushby, "Cyrus Cooper's Memorial and the Free Gospel Ministry," Quaker History 89 (Spring 2000): 28-46.

Sally:  How familiar are you with the old journals?  A few are well known (George Fox, John Woolman, etc.), but many very edifying journals are virtually unknown to modern

Friends.
