I was raised Plain Amish-Mennonite. However, my mother was a Friend, convinced in highschool (Sidwell Friends' School, to be exact). Over the decades since childhood I've been finding my way in the Light of Jesus (praise God) and am presently hoping for fellowship with Conservative Friends.
My interests are music, reading (particularly philosophy and theology), and good conversations. Some of my favorite authors are Gerard Manley Hopkins, Soren Kierkegaard, and John (who wrote the Gospel).
Not long ago, I quit a career in publishing technologies in New York to seek work for God. At the moment, I am helping homeless youth. Permanently working directly for God is my greatest desire right now! although I do not yet really know how to go about it.
Hi Porter. Where are you moving now? Surely we must be able to find *some* interesting Friend nearby! It would be lovely to meet up with you at some regional gathering somewhere sometime.
