Convinced around 2009, puzzled to find that the community I saw so clearly presented in the 1995 Quaker Faith & Practice isn't always seen by Friends around me. In fact, if it hadn't become invisible to some, how could anyone ever be suggesting - as happens at regular intervals - that it may be time to 'do away with membership altogether'. Community, Quaker identity, the membership issue - for me, these are the big issues in Britain Yearly Meeting , and the place from which I approach renewal.
