I'm the son of two midwestern pastors who met at ESR. I grew up in New England Yearly Meeting, so I absorbed programmed and unprogrammed Quakerism at the same time. My favorite Quaker story is the story of how Thomas Lurting foiled a pirate invasion of the merchant ship he was working on, and my favorite book of the Bible is Job. Right now I'm in Louisville, KY. Don't scoff, northerners!! The people are friendly here and the food is great. I've gotten into the national gatherings that bring YAFs from all yearly meetings together; I'm impressed that we seem to be handling theological differences quite well. I also support the work of Stephen Dotson with the World Student Christian Federation. Send him a message, I'm sure he'd love to tell you about it.
