I admit that I am new here to QQ. I find it a tremendous blessing as I am isolated. The many posts and articles and the library study which I have been enjoying is wonderful.
However, I have noticed a worrying trend. I have noticed that most posters are Quakers of one form or another. But I have also noticed many…

My husband let me sleep in a little this morning and I rose at 8:15 out of an amazing dream.
He handed me some coffee and I said "let me tell you the dream I had."
I saw a great wave that could only have been a Tsunami and it was coming from the west. I heard It will affect Hawaii and that it is under alert and that it could also affect the west coast of the United States.
I saw in the dream villages, that looked of dirt, or more primitive dried…

Sometimes it is very difficult to put down exactly what a person believes other than the simple mechanics of one's faith. But that alone cannot convey the life of experiencing it, truly living it.
So I will give a type of testimony of how I was led.…

As I watched my son in law whirl around my grandson in the air I, enjoyed the screams of glee from my grandchild, and the loving smile and tender twinkle in his fathers eyes. In a family these are the moments we…

I attempted to send you a message along with my friend request but it would not accept it. Also, I clicked on your web site and it showed up only for two seconds before redirecting to a site that looks like a commercial. I thought I would share this with you. I hope to make friends here with Christian Quakers.
Dear Friend Debrah,
Thank thee so much for thy friendship and greetings!
The profile picture is actually of Maine, not Canada, although Canada has many beautiful spots as well.
I was drawn to thee against my will (lol!) Yes, I am a very new Friend, with LOTS to learn! ( lol!)
Thee hast (is my grammar correct here) a biblical name! Mine means 'pearl' -- I am glad thee likes it. My parents did I guess!
Thank thee for the wonderful friend request! I am happy to meet thee and look forward to getting acquainted! I loved reading thy comment on the "so done posing" thread. I relate to the things you mentioned that you have learned or that have changed thee after choosing to dress plain. My first item of plain clothing was my cap. I have felt similar things as thee speaks of in choosing to wear such things as headcoverings. It has been trans-formative, to say the least. It is wonderful to have so much positive support through this kind of journey as thee will find here. I am truly thankful for all of it, and all of the wonderful people I have had contact with on here, as I have learned much from them and received much kindness. Blessings of love and light to thee, my new friend! Thanks for wanting to be my friend on here!

Dear Debrah,
Welcome! I am all agog over your activity since you joined--but then, I was sort of the same way, and I believe many newcomers are just as excited about engaging with a group of people who understand their condition. :)
I just wanted to tell you that your answer to Simon was very special, and indicates that you "get" the Religious Society of Friends. I am grateful you are here.
Incidentally, I recently attended Stillwater Friends Meeting, along with 9 others from my meeting. I belong to a liberal meeting, and I was interested in experiencing a conservative meeting for worship. To a person, we all found our experience of Stillwater a very special and nourishing time of worship. We look forward to going back, and bringing more Friends with us. Stillwater has much to teach us.
Yours in the Light, Paula (also of Quaker descent, with 2 intervening generations)
