this is my first post on this web site. glad to be a member! lately i have been feeling god's presence in my life from worshipping by my self in the manner of Friends. I am coming close to making friends (oops pun not intended) with my christian background through hearing God directly through silent worship. I now attend appleseed meeting in Sebastopol Ca. I have been reading things on line from Ohio yearly meeting. I have a question: why is saying thee and thou considered plain speech in stead of you?

Hello, Annie!  and welcome!

The plain speech is a practice from the past which some Friends are quite attached to, but which doesn't have much meaning at present.
