About Me
My husband and I run a small division of Indiana Horse Rescue. I was raised Lutheran in a strongly Catholic area and left my church many years ago due to differing beliefs. However, as I get older, I feel a strong desire to connect with others who share similar religious beliefs and practices to my own. I saw a PBS program recently that mentioned Quakerism and it was like a lighbulb flashing on for me; I am here to learn more about a religion that seems to be speaking volumes to me. Looking forward to learning more and hopefully meeting local Friends. Have a great day!

Welcome, Amber!

I understand the "lightbulb flashing on" analogy. I had the same feeling when I read a newspaper article about Friends. I was raised agnostic.

I don't imagine that we are related, but my paternal grandmother was a Ball. She was the first non-Quaker Ball since the early 18th century (her father married out of the faith). Her family lived in Philadelphia, moved in 1803 to Salem, Ohio, then migrated with a large Quaker migration in abt. 1850 to West Branch, Iowa (where Quaker president Herbert Hoover was born).
