Retired. Enjoying life with my loving husband, my toy poodle Emma and my handsome no brand small dog Thomas. I'm happily building a small network of fine friends in my new country. I'm an obsessive reader. I bake to eat the foods I loved in my homeland Australia. Once upon a time I baked because I loved to. Maybe because I have a few painful conditions, it's not such a joyful hobby? I love the food it produces though! England has many cultural differences which is interesting but sadly, their food, not so much. Sorry! I get pleasure from plain living and if I could have this life again, I'd settle somewhere in a USA or Canadian preferably, plain community. I'd share in Amish or Mennonite life and pursue not being an individual but sacrifice self for the betterment of community living. In so doing, my conscience would be clearer. And I'd make gorgeous quilts from plain scraps. So symbolic of plain living! To be one of His peculiar people would be my joy! Yet I find there's more to plain living than wearing clothes of a past era. Living plain comes from the heart; simple joys, moving quietly and disturbing little in a prayerful walk with Jesus. This can be achieved in the noisiest city And yet we thrive by giving of ourselves in a community setting. And we learn the lesson of humility in receiving.
