I am hoping to budget enough so my son and I can attend, though it will depend on whether I have employment for next school year (my job is subject to state budget).

What particular Gathering is thee referring to?

Hi, Isabel,

"The Gathering" is the annual event sponsored by FGC. Many Friends of other persuasions attend as well. Last year was my first time attending, and I'll never miss it again, I hope.

It is not cheap. But it is a wonderful way to make fFriends and develop strong bonds across the wider Quaker world. At least, that was my experience.

Thine in the Light, Paula

I think it would be helpful, on a cross-branch website like this one, to call it the FGC Gathering rather than just "The Gathering." There are, in fact, several Quaker gatherings that occur in Iowa over the course of a summer . . . though I am sure that will be the largest . . .

And, no, I won't be able to attend. I just looked at the webpage and those prices preclude my being able to participate.

Isabel

Thanks, Isabel.  You're right, it is the FGC gathering I am hoping to attend.  Thanks for pointing out the need for clarification.  I'm sorry we won't have you there!  I'd love to meet Tabitha and the new one on the way!  Congratulations!
