I am becoming deeply, deeply concerned at the tuition of Quaker schools, particularly high schools. Many "Quaker" high schools are far, far, far out of range of the average middle class person and just a glimmer of a dream for lower income persons. I know Quaker high schools are very popular, they are attracting upper income, non-Quaker staff and students. How is that Quaker? I think that as Quakers we need to make some sort of communal commitment to every Quaker child who wants a Quaker education that it would be available. 30K for a year of high school??? Absolute insanity.
