this has turned out harder than it seemed to network online to recieve love, encouragement, and friendship from quakers online since i'm not near a meeting and my current situation doesnt at this time make it possible to travel to a meeting

i thought finding fellow seekers online would fill the void of loneliness and isolation, but it has turned out that the people i have met online has offered to show me "HOW TO FIND A MEETING" while i know this is done in a spirit of love and friendship. i need more networking to find friends online to offer encouragement to my spiritual searching and offer advice how to follow the quaker way at this time. while i'm not able to attend meetings. i'm sure i'm not the only isolated seeker and i would love to find out how others cope with this and how they practice silence and seeking the inner light while not being able to attend meetings

Elzie,
I sympathize with that feeling of longing for deep fellowship and models. It is often difficult with Friends to get a simple answer to a question as well as they differ so much and are hesitant at times to do more than give you a query back. But, rest assured, I believe the Spirit will guide you in your search. I worship at: www.quakerworship.org every Sunday at 21 GMT time, if you can make it. There is chat afterwards also to get to know one another--a small but dedicated group and you are so welcome there. It meets more sporadically during the week.
In friendship and peace to your heart,
Jan Lyn
