Event Description

On April 16-18, 2010, ESR will welcome well-known author and speaker John Dominic Crossan to campus. A religious scholar widely known for co-founding the Jesus Seminar, as well as a former Catholic priest, Crossan is a major figure in the fields of biblical archaeology and anthropology, among others. He has also appeared in television documentaries about Jesus and the Bible. He is especially vocal in the field of Historical Jesus studies.

Crossan will present four lectures while in Richmond on the topic of Jesus and Paul: Continuity or Discontinuity. Three of the four lectures will take place on the ESR campus, with the first at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 16th in the ESR Center Gathering Area. On Saturday, April 17th, Crossan will continue this theme with lectures at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm, both also in the ESR Center Gathering Area.

To conclude his lecture series, Crossan will speak at First Friends Meeting in Richmond beginning at 11:00 am. All of these lectures are free and open to the public. For more information on these lectures, contact Mandy Ford at fordma@earlham.edu or by calling (800) 432-1377, and for information about First Friends Meeting, call (765) 962-7666.
