At each one of these Northeastern Christ-centered Friends' gatherings that I've been to -- and this will be the sixth year it's met -- I learn something new about other Friends' walks with the living Christ, and open myself up to having Jesus ask something new of me. These are experiences I might never get if I attended only my own home meeting, which is liberal and theologically diverse. I feel deeply loved there, but I experience a kind of malnutrition if I don't also get the spiritual nourishment I've only found among a sizable company of fellow devotees of the Lord who are burning with the same kind of fire. Please forgive my mixed metaphor and come to this one if you can!
