Isolated and Friendless

I was so glad to find Quaker Quaker, it was literally a God send. I'm an attender, not being a member of a monthly meeting. I found a meeting about 45 minutes from my house and I attended. It was the greatest experience of my life. I had also attended a Buddhist mediation group and the experience was not the same FOR ME!! I had finally found what I was looking for and that was the best of both worlds the benefits of mediation but holding on to my theist beliefs. In my mind it was not me that was doing the work for transformation, but the Inner light that was devine. I used to like to say I have power that's in me but not of me- that the power of god which I can not take credit for.

But any way.....My problem is that experience with meeting was over 4 years ago. I now live no where near a meeting and at the present attend a protestant main stream church with my other half and his family.

I love my beliefs i have but feel so isolated i have read online of others who are isolated how do you cope and practice the faith with no other friends around!!!!!

being that me and my male partner would be attending

Comment by Forrest Curo on 4th mo. 1, 2010 at 2:46pm: "Conservative Friends" does not, in my limited experience, imply anything at all like American Political "Conservatism". Think 'conservative' as in 'conserving', trying to maintain what's worth keeping in the tradition, not as in 'radical right-wing nihilists.' If you were to contact them, you might (I don't know) be pleasantly surprised...
