Friends Journal now available in PDF format

Hello, world. I am writing to spread the word to you Internet-savvy Quakers that Friends Journal is now available in an electronic subscription format. Subscribers to our digital edition will receive instant access to the latest issue as a PDF file. We think it looks great on a large screen (full screen mode on a 17-inch LCD? Beautiful), and just fine on a smaller screen (though there'll be some scrolling to do). And since it doesn't require a web connection, it's perfect for reading wherever you like to read. Except the bath, perhaps. But hey, there is still the print edition for that.

You can subscribe at www.friendsjournal.org/digital. The cost is the same as our print edition, but without the postage and handling charge -- $39.99 for one year. Friends Journal costs much more than that to produce -- we rely on advertising and donations in addition to subscriptions to cover the full cost of creating this original content.

Our electronic edition launches with what is sure to be a talked-about FJ. The articles in the February issue run the gamut from decidedly Christian (Shane Claiborne addressing Friends) to decidedly non-Christian (Sanford Segal on "Why I Am Not a Christian"), with pieces on the abortion debate and how Friends can "support the troops." Please give it a try, and let me know what you think. My email is marketing at friends journal (all one word) dot org.

Yours in peace,

Gabe
